What educational, entrepreneurial or business development programs, if any, have you taken advantage of?
I have an MBA and I have closed $25M+ deals while working for corporate America. I network with professional organizations heavily. I sell consultative solutions which is more effective with in-person meetings or referral. I am actively involved with Techtown Mentor, Troy Chamber Ambassador, Detroit Chamber Small Business Advisor, Adjunct Faculty of Macomb County College, Automation Alley Healthcare Initiative Chair, Society of Information Management, Michigan Minority Business Development Corporation, American Association of Litigation Support Board member/Program Manager.
Who was your first customer and where did you find them?
Dominion Family Services. Networking with New Detroit Initiative
Where did you find your first employee?
She responded to an ad I posted
Have you promoted an intern to employee status, and if so how many times have you done it?
I am not there yet, but have plans. Today I have no interns.
Where have you turned to find capital to grow your company and which institutions have provided it?
Banks, but they are not lending at all, so we are primarily self-funded.
What do you see in Metro Detroit that other people who live outside the area don't?
Incredible potential to grow and make a mark because of the talent pool and important technical and geographical hub
If you could change one thing about this region, what would it be?
Constant media coverage on all the good things that are happening. I mean 24/7 coverage until the perception changes. There are a lot of good things happening in this region but they don't get publicized widely on the national front.
